Information Society

The information society is a term used to describe a society and an economy that makes the best possible use of new information and communication technologies (ICT's). In an Information Society people will get the full benefits of new technology in all aspects of their lives: at work, at home and at play. Examples of ICT's are: e-banking, e-commerce, mobile phones, teletext televisions, faxes and information services such as the internet and e-mail.These new technologies have implications for all aspects of our society and economy, they are changing the way in which we do business, how we learn and how we spend our leisure time.

In study programmes of Information Society, the largest emphasis is given on how the information revolution penetrates society, politics, business, and culture.
