The division of Statistics

The Division of Statistics at the Department of Mathematics gives courses in statistics mainly by direction of the Faculty of Arts and Science at Linköpings universitet, but also some courses within the technology programmes. They provide education for the Statistics and Data Analysis Programme, the Statistics Programme  and give single subject courses in statistics.

Statistics and data mining is a programme with unique career opportunities. The methods to organise and analyse data are getting more and more powerful, and this makes the synergy between data mining and statistics immensely rewarding. Economic transactions, customer data, individual health records and environmental data are just a few examples of the contents of enormous databases awaiting thorough examination.
